Guidelines for Reviewers

All manuscripts submitted to Immersive Media and User Experience (IMUE) undergo a double-blind peer-review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed to ensure an impartial and objective evaluation.

Before Accepting a Review Assignment

Reviewers should ensure that:

The manuscript falls within their area of expertise.

They can complete the review within the requested timeframe (normally two weeks). If additional time is required, the handling editor should be informed promptly.

They have no financial, professional, academic, or personal conflicts of interest related to the manuscript, its authors, or affiliated institutions. Any potential conflict must be disclosed to the Editor-in-Chief before accepting the review assignment.

Evaluation Criteria

Reviewers are expected to assess manuscripts based on their scholarly quality, originality, validity, and compliance with the journal's standards. Particular attention should be given to the following:

The title accurately reflects the content of the manuscript.

The abstract, introduction, methodology, results, discussion, and conclusions are clear, coherent, and adequately developed.

The literature review is relevant and current.

The data presented are accurate, reliable, and appropriately interpreted.

The methodology is described in sufficient detail to allow replication of the study.

The analyses and evidence adequately support the conclusions drawn.

Statistical analyses, tables, figures, graphs, and other illustrations are accurate, clearly presented, and easy to interpret.

Any specialized methods or techniques are sufficiently described or supported by supplementary materials where necessary.

Review Report

Reviewers should provide constructive, detailed, and objective comments addressing, where appropriate:

The clarity, organization, and overall comprehensibility of the manuscript.

The adequacy of evidence supporting the authors' claims.

The extent to which previous literature and relevant findings have been appropriately considered.

The suitability and transparency of the research methodology.

Any areas requiring clarification, revision, or additional documentation.

Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers Must

Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all manuscript content and associated correspondence.

Not share manuscripts or seek external assistance without prior permission from the handling editor.

Respect review deadlines to facilitate timely editorial decisions and publication.

Immediately notify the editor of any suspected plagiarism, ethical concerns, research misconduct, data manipulation, or other irregularities identified during the review process.

Refrain from evaluating manuscripts where conflicts of interest may compromise their impartiality. The editorial team will assess any disclosed conflicts and determine whether reassignment of the review is necessary.

Editorial Decision

Reviewer recommendations are advisory in nature. The final decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection of a manuscript rests solely with the Editor-in-Chief or the designated handling editor.
