Aim and Scope

Immersive Media and User Experience (IMUE) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that provides a platform for cutting-edge research at the intersection of immersive technologies, user experience design, and technological innovations in interdisciplinary settings. The journal aims to advance theoretical understanding, practical applications, and methodological developments in how immersive environments such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), and digital games (DG) impact user engagement, user experience, and digital interactions.

IMUE encourages submissions from a wide range of disciplines, including but not limited to Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Innovative Technology, Digital Humanities, Design Thinking, Communication, and Creative Industries. The journal fosters a cross-disciplinary dialogue by welcoming both empirical studies and conceptual papers that explore how immersive media and technology are reshaping the way we design user experiences, engagement, and communicate.

Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):

  • UX/UI design in immersive and interactive environments (VR/AR/MR/SG)
  • Digital transformation in user experiences using XR technologies
  • Human-centered design and evaluation of immersive systems
  • Cognitive, affective, and behavioral impacts of immersive user experiences
  • Digital games and simulations for interdisciplinary practices
